From our oasis of a retirement community, a common interest development (aka HOA) in the Inland Empire of Southern California (Trilogy Glen Ivy), we gladly and frequently take the 60 minute commute on the 15 Freeway north to the 210 Freeway West.

Why?  Because of our routine follow-up visits to the #CANSWERIST caregivers at City of Hope where I began treatment about a decade ago for mantle cell lymphoma.  Readers of my blog know that I am one of the most fortunate ones, a survivor of the cancer through chemotherapy, radiation treatments, and a stem cell transplant in August 2007.

If you read the #SocialCurrentSee that is embedded in the Storify slide show (above), you will note many other comments and links on topic.

Notably, this was to be the last film James Garner (who died two years ago July) would ever make. Lee Meriweather (now 80) and Bill Cobbs (now 81) were supporting players. It was a grand experience, and while it may have been a small role, those checks keep coming in. And at the end? It's a great "message movie" about a life lesson that few have a chance to learn.
